On 14 November, Riga will be the venue for the largest conference in the Baltic Region on the topical issues of e-commerce, “eCom21”. More than 250 participants from 20 countries will attend the forum. Apart from the official agenda, the event’s programme anticipates wide opportunities for personal communication between experts and participants of the market and establishment of direct business contacts. The patron of the conference is Rietumu Bank.
The two-day conference will be devoted to topical issues and perspectives of e-commerce. Participants of the forum will discuss tendencies of the development of the e-commerce market, issues of legal and tax regulation, formation of organisational structures in this field, increase of efficiency of online sales and other aspects of activities topical for operating businesses.
Partners of “eCom21” are the world leader of the instant payment market QIWI and the Russian processing company PayOnline. Among the conference participants are the world’s largest payment systems Visa and MasterCard, software developers and sellers, large online stores, payment systems and processing centres, service providers, audit and consulting companies from Russia, the US, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Israel, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries.
“Interest in the forum has surpassed all expectations. This must be due both to the scale of the event and its topical subject, as well as the selection of speakers, among whom one can see many famous and recognisable names,” says the First Vice-president Ruslan Stecyuk. “I think that big pluses of “eCom21” will also be its focus on practical issues and wide opportunities for informal communication ‘on the forum fields’ and establishment of personal contacts.”
The conference work is organised in eight sections, which are devoted to different aspects of the evolution of e-commerce, organisation of business management on the European merchant account basis, licensing of payment systems, usage of electronic money, attraction of venture capitals, as well as specifics of tax regulation and financial burden reduction, and topical issues of technology and safety.
Apart from the formal agenda, which includes presentations of the conference speakers, workshops and discussions, there is a large unofficial programme anticipated within the framework of “eCom21”, including: attendance of a hockey match between Dinamo Riga and Ak Bars, an excursion to the Riga Stock Exchange Museum of Foreign Art and a light show on the Dome Square.
