Rietumu Bank Presented a New Edition of a Guidebook for Latvia

8 July 2014, 12:00

Rietumu Bank representatives, senior vice-president Ilya Suharenko and Council member Aleksandr Gafin, handed over the collection of picturesque photos made on the Riga seashore in the 1930s and the exclusive payment card “Jurmala” emitted by Rietumu Bank to the Jurmala City Museum, where the presentation took place.

“Rietumu Guide” is a Rietumu Bank “brand” guidebook which is traditionally released during “the high season” in Jurmala. This edition is already the fourth in succession. This year the guidebook is available in print and in electronic form; an application for mobile devices can be downloaded from the bank’s website.

Senior vice-president Ilya Suharenko presented the new edition and said: “Our guidebook shows our hospitality. While working on it we aimed to present a comprehensive idea of Latvia, its nature, traditions and potential, and show Latvia’s most attractive sides to our guests. People who come to our country often only see Riga and Jurmala and we tried to expand this travel area.
I am sure that the more people there are abroad that know about our country, the closer it becomes and the more possibilities for business, investments and common projects appear. We are interested in it both as Latvian patriots and as a bank”.

Director of Jurmala Museum Inta Baumane, Jurmala City Council executive director Gunta Smalka, journalists and other guests also took part in the presentation of the new edition of the “Rietumu Guide”.

Like the previous Rietumu guidebooks, its new version recommends the best hotels, restaurants, active rest places and cultural events of the season to guests of Latvia. The major sections – ”Hotels”, ”Restaurants”, ”Museums”, ”Active rest”, ”Shopping”, ”Beauty and Health”, ”Picture and Art Galleries”, ”Events 2014” and others are represented in the new edition.

This edition contains a new section which includes route descriptions for country car trips around Riga’s suburbs and the main regions of Latvia. Major historic, cultural and natural attractions, service and infrastructure objects are pointed out in this section. Some pedestrian tours around the historic centre of Latvian capital are also offered.

A special section is dedicated to the platinum credit card of Rietumu Bank “Jurmala”. It contains information about preferences, discounts and other benefits, which are available this season for card holders.

The previous guidebook edition was released in 2013 with the first circulation of 3000 copies and was successful among foreign guests. The second circulation of 2000 copies was printed at the end of the season.

“Rietumu Guide” is a free guidebook which you can get in the best restaurants, hotels, trade and service places in Riga and Jurmala.
