On Friday, 23 March, with support of Rietumu Bank a unique exhibition of “Fabergé” jewellery house artworks will be opened at Great Exhibition hall of Art Museum Riga Bourse. The exhibition will feature works from the collections of Russian and Latvian museums and private collections.
Exhibition Project is included in cooperation programme of Republic of Latvia and Federation of Russia Ministries of Culture for the year 2010 to 2012.
Riegans and the guests of the city for the first time will be able to see the outstanding Faberge artworks from History Museum (Moscow), Russian Museum of Applied, Decorative and Folk Art, Fersman Mineralogical Museum (Moscow), The Latvian National Museum of Art and several Russian private collections.
In Art Museum Riga Bourse early works of Gustav Fabergé’s jewellery manufactory are exhibited and his son’s Peter Carl Fabergé jewellery, which are samples of highest mastery of this industry. Several works are created by master Mihail Perhin. The exhibition contains only unique pieces; each of them is related with significant happening or period of time in history of firm “Fabergé” or Russian imperator’s family, and also characterizes this jeweller house’s artistic and technical virtuosity.
The exhibits cover a wide range of work forms, starting with famous brand – Easter eggs – including adornments, table ware, watches, cases and other accessories, which are the most exclusive works of “Fabergé” house. The Art Nouveau and Italian Renaissance can be seen in the works of exhibition, which reflects in the characteristic use of ornamental motifs and fine performance manner. It is united by elegance inhered in French jewellery. The rare combination of styles comes from "Fabergé" circle of interests and influences, creating unique manner performance.

The exhibition runs until May 29 before returning to Moscow.
