The tour of the American artists in Latvia is supported by Rietumu Bank and Rietumu Charity Fund.

For the first time, dancers from the best ballet companies of the USA will hold a joint guest performance in Riga, on the stage of the Latvian Opera: prima ballerinas Tricia Albertson, Karina Gonzalez, Jeanette Delgado; soloist Dylan Gutierrez; as well as Geraldine Mendoza, who trained in Moscow at the Bolshoi Theatre in the past, and premieres Renine Serdeiro and Connor Walsh.

Spectators will be able to see their performances staged by the famous choreographers: Christopher Wheeldon, Jerome Robbins, as well as the legendary George Balanchine who laid the foundation of the American choreography and modern neoclassical ballet art in general.

The upcoming tour is timed to coincide with the photo exhibition "Moments of Ballet" which has been recently opened in the Rietumu Bank Art Gallery. The photo exhibition is organised by the Charity Fund of Rietumu Bank. According to the organisers, the main task of the exhibition is to welcome the artists from the USA and show the beauty of plastic dance and modern ballet art to the ballet lovers.

The art of the American plastic dance of the 20th century is a bright and original phenomenon in the world of culture, which has absorbed the legacy of dance and music of different schools. Based on the best schools in the world, the USA has established its own dance traditions. Today, the American School of Ballet represents a classical and modern choreography, while the Ballet itself – an international language, in the truest sense of the word.

"The tour promises to be a spectacular event in the cultural life of the Latvian capital. For many years, Rietumu Bank has been supporting major and significant projects in the field of cultural exchange. This time we have decided to draw attention to dance as one of the best sources of inspiration. And there was no doubt that the best schools – both of classical ballet and modern dance – are represented in the United States.

The current visit of the American ballet stars will allow our ballet lovers to become more familiar with the modern choreography of this country. I hope that everyone will receive genuine pleasure from the exhibition dedicated to the tour and the upcoming concert. I am confident that this project, like all the previous ones, will be very successful!” said Alexander Gafin, Member of the Council of Rietumu Bank.
