In a couple of months changes in Latvian legislation, providing the most favorable regime for international holdings will become effective. Amid positive expectations, pessimistic views of a number of “experts” arise on perspectives of transformation of Latvia in the “new Cyprus” and on stability of new tax policy. One other thing is true: Latvia will have a chance of attracting thousands of investors – the way Cyprus, Malta, Luxembourg and other European neighbors have already done.
Rietumu Bank, the largest private bank in Latvia, has been awarded the 2012 SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Award. The award was granted in the category “Best Bank in the CIS and Baltic States providing private banking services and wealth management for Russian customers”.
The exhibition titled Retrospection by Edgars Mikelsons , one of the most talented modern Latvian artists, has opened in the art gallery of Rietumu Bank. The exposition presents more than 50 works that reflect the creative development of the author, i.e. from the very first pictures, to the works that were created in recent years. The exhibition is held in two parts. Its second part is open in St. Peter’s Cathedral in Riga.
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus has extended accreditation of the representative offices of Rietumu Bank in Moscow and Minsk for another three years – until October 2015 and January 2016 respectively.
